From a city standpoint, it's been a weak spot in the battle against the raging coronavirus. "We haven’t really had as much of a community wide unified messaging campaign as I would have hoped," said Tulsa city councilor Kara Joy McKee, part of the city's COVID Communication Committee, tasked with raising awareness on how to stay safe. "And not just telling people don’t do this, but really giving options, don’t do this, do this instead," she said.
