The NFL held its season finale on Sunday. The highlight was, naturally, watching the Buffalo Bills SHREAD the New England Patriots to earn the #2 seed. The other highlight was a different kind of shredding. This local dude with a sweet mullet shredded our National Anthem on the electric guitar before the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennesee Titans game.
American flag guitar and all! Dare I say, THIS is what led the Jaguars to victory.
Our dude's name is Paul Wane. He's just a local Jacksonville resident. He's in a band called "Duval County Line." He also operates a foundation called “Guitars 4 Kids" and has given close to 300 instruments to children over the last few years.
The Jaguars were all like "you wanna jam" and Wane was all like "hell yeah, brother!." Or, something to that extent. When you rock such a sweet ass mullet, "hell yeah, brother" is the universal greeting and response to everything. Kinda like "Aloha."
Some are calling it the greatest anthem performance in history. While others are calling it the most Duval thing ever.
Duval is the county Jacksonville is in, and the residents take great pride in being from there. I'm unclear why. The extent of my Jacksonville knowledge is that Jaguars co-owner Tony Khan also owns All Elite Wrestling. Though while we're making wrestling references...
Oh, and apparently playing the National Anthem on the electric guitar IS the national anthem of Jacksonville.
Metal fingers up to Paul Kane. Our dude ROCKS. His performance of the National Anthem on the electric guitar could have only been more patriotic if a bald eagle landed on his arm as he finished.
