There has been a rash of brazen smash and grab robberies over the past year, the result of liberal "defund the police" policies teamed with liberal politicians getting elected in liberal cities and no longer enforcing the law. It's become so bad, that we're starting to see store employees fight back. This Best Buy didn't "fight back" per se. But they did foil the robbery with a plan that should get the assistant manager a job as a defensive coordinator in the NFL.
The quick thinking employees have gone viral thanks to the popular NFL Memes Twitter account. Also, from fans breaking out their red markers to illustrate the brilliance of the play.
My favorite part of this video is that the team has been clearly practicing. This was way too coordinated a plan to have happened spur of the moment. That means there is a store manager--we'll call him Geek Squad Jones--who has been following the news and seen the videos all over the internet of shoplifting while people stand around doing nothing and said to himself, "Self, not in MY Best Buy!"
Geek Squad Jones was an all-county athlete in high school football. Sadly, he blew out his knee his sophomore year of college and was working at Best Buy while he determined what was next. G.S. had his old playbook and gathered his employees to train. Periodically, when it was slow, G.S. would yell out "OMAHA! PAPA JOHN'S PIZZA" or some other play to make sure his team was ready to go at a moment's notice. Finally, the day arrived when G.S. was able to put his plan into action. Criminals were foiled! Jones was declared a hero and was carried off to the break room in celebration!
Or, what more than likely happened is that it was an accident. The shoplifters were free to go. And Jones got fired for ignoring a store policy.
