Amber Heard started testifying in Johnny Depp's defamation trial this week. She already fired her PR team because, thanks to the evidence and Depp's testimony, everyone thinks she is a liar and a crazy person who was actually the abuser. And you can add comedian Bill Burr to that list.
Bill Burr discussed the case on his Monday Morning Podcast. And while he isn't as glued to the screen as some other celebrities, what's been presented in the case shows Depp is the victim here.
"From what I've seen, [Depp] is f*cking destroying [Amber Heard]. [...] If he really does expose this woman for lying, I'm wondering if all these people that accepted her lies about him if they're going to apologize somehow 'cause they publicly trashed him."
It will be interesting. We knew back in 2019 of the audio showing Heard was not only abusing Depp but telling him "no one is going to believe you." That was entered into evidence. We also found out Amber Heard didn't even write the op-ed at the center of the case. The ACLU did and timed it for the release of Aquaman.
Burr wants to know if all the media outlets trashing him are going to issue public apologies. Also, where are the women's rights organizations? Because Amber Heard just made real victims' lives that much more difficult.
"There are women out there that are in a relationship that this woman evidently lied and claimed that she was in when she wasn't. And for someone to go out and lie about it, hurts the people that are actually in it. So, you would think they would cover this."
You would think so, huh?
Heard is testifying and giving her side of events as we speak. Could she have some evidence that shows Depp is an abuser? Mayhaps. But it's clear that Amber Heard definitely was one. We'll see what her testimony brings up.
