Over the weekend, a man in Texas wandered into a building and took five people hostages. The man was Malik Faisal Akram. The building was a synagogue. The five people were Jewish. And Akram, who was armed, was demanding the release of Aafia "Lady al Qaeda" Siddiqui, an antisemite who is in prison for attempting to murder U.S. servicemembers. At first, our FBI claimed there was no known motive. President Biden was confused as to why Akram was "using anti-Semitic & anti-Israeli comments." Perhaps this recorded phone call might shed some light on matters.
Akram made one final phone call to his brother while the hostage situation was still ongoing. The audio was obtained by the Jewish Chronicle. Let's listen and see if we might piece together a possible motive.
