Democrats are on record that they support on-demand abortion, without question or restriction. Some of them even think supporting abortion up until the day of birth is a winning message. It's all in how you frame the question. That's what pro-abortion activist Aimee Arrambide discovered the hard way during a congressional hearing. Framing the question was Congressman Dan Bishop.
For those of you playing along at home and who care about such things, I believe Arrambide is the only one with a uterus.
"Let me just ask you this question. If it is not lawful and morally acceptable to take the life of a 10-year-old child, I assume you agree with that...and a two-year-old child, same thing. That would be murder. We would all agree that's wrong. Then what is the principal distinction between the human being that is two years old or nine months old or one week old or an hour old, than one that is eight inches further up the birth canal in the uterus? What's the difference why is it okay in the latter case and not in the former cases?"
Framed like that, there's is only one of two answers. One is admitting that the person has a point, and maybe you should rethink your beliefs on the issue and that, perhaps, abortion with no limits--like it is supported by the Democratic Party--may put you on the wrong side of history.
Or, after stunned silence and not having anything smart to say, you can stick with the talking points.
"I trust people to determine what to do with their own bodies. Full stop."
Riiiiight. But the congressman was asking about someone else's body. That's the point, and I think you know that.
