We're going on a month of Elon Musk buying Twitter coverage, and folks are still being silly about it. Some folks are more unhinged than others. But everyone is being silly about it. The Wall Street Journal wants you to know about "The Shadow Crew" who encouraged Musk to buy Twitter. Even Elon is laughing at that one.
Yes, Musk has a typo in his tweet. Even billionaires need an edit tweet function.
The WSJ article didn't say much. One of the names was Jack Dorsey, which isn't surprising. Musk wasn't available for comment. Also, "it isn’t clear whether he took any of their advice to heart or merely followed his own gut." It makes you wonder what the point of the entire article was.
Though, it did give Elon an idea for merchandise.
Don't lie and pretend you wouldn't buy a t-shirt. I might even be in for a satin jacket. The kind of jackets you get for joining the Loyal Order of Water Buffalos, or the Knights of Columbus.
But who to lead Musk's "Shadow Crew?" One man's name comes to mind. Actually, one word comes to mind: SHATNER! The actor best known for playing William Shatner in cameos bucked liberal Hollywood and threw his support behind the billionaire buying Twitter. Musk tweeted that the respect is mutual.
If I were a billionaire who bought a big tech platform, I can think of worse people to head up my Shadow Crew than Captain Kirk. I'll actually be disappointed if Shatner ISN'T honorary Shadow Crew captain. Or if Musk doesn't put together a real showdown crew now.
Elon. Making Twitter fun again.
