Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is a favorite of ours here at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website. God willing, one day he will be President DeSantis' Attorney General. The outspoken LEO, like many in America right now, has been critical of the Uvalde police response to last week's school shooting. Sheriff Judd said active shooters are taken out between zero to five minutes. It took them over an hour to take out the Uvalde shooter.
Sheriff Judd made it clear what the response SHOULD have been. He doesn't use the words "swiss cheese'd up." But he was thinking about them.
"Once an active shooter, always an active shooter. Push in, save lives, neutralize the threat. We train for that; we expect that. I want them to shoot them, shoot them so much that you can read the local newspaper through them. Neutralize the threat.”
Sheriff Judd also took exception to an MSNBC editorial claiming the Texas shooting showed the futility of arming teachers. Blogger Zeeshan Aleem believes that because police weren't able to stop the Uvalde shooter, it dispels the "myth" of good guys with guns. Setting aside the criticism that in order for police to have stopped the shooter they would have needed to try and that you are not a good guy with a gun if you stand around doing nothing.
“MSNBC doesn’t know so much about what they’re talking about—but that’s not unusual. If they did, they could create the training program, and we’d never have another active shooter."
POTUS has come out against the "hardening" of schools. I'd love to know what Sheriff Judd thinks about that.
