A CNN producer is demanding that as you revel in the schadenfreude of CNN+ being shut down, think about the feelings of CNN employees who lost their jobs. Gov. Kristi Noem, the smoke show governor of South Dakota, thought the request was odd because CNN doesn't care when other Americans lose their jobs.
Ellie Smith, the producer in question, tweeted a PSA: "If you’re going to tweet something snarky about CNN+, hundreds of journalists and technicians who did nothing but work their tails off just had the rug pulled out from under them. So be kind." Gov. Noem pointed out that lots of people who work their tails off have had the rug pulled out from under them.
Hey, remember the Keystone XL workers? Fox News told the stories of some of those employees who woke up one day unemployed. Only it wasn't because of the company being an epic failure like CNN+. It was because Joe Biden killed their jobs with an executive order. CNN wasn't concerned about that particular rug being pulled out from under those workers as much as they were the decisive leadership Biden showed.
CNN also isn't concerned when other people lose their jobs or their businesses. Their main concern is how it will affect Biden's poll numbers or chances at reelection.
I feel for anyone who loses their job. It is tragic when people who provide a valuable service for their community and to America, more broadly, one day discover they need to find new work. My heart breaks for them.
CNN doesn't provide a valuable service. The network, more often than not, sh*ts all over average Americans who don't share the network's political agenda. I'll stick with the mockery.
