Twitter employee meltdowns of new board of director member Elon Musk roll on, and I'm running out of popcorn. When I wrote about it on Tuesday, it was BEFORE Musk was named to the board of directors. It's got worse (for them) and more hilarious for us. WaPo wants you to believe that Musk buying 9% (I'm guessing soon to be 15%) of the bird app is bad for free speech. Then you have Twitter managers like Jay Holler who are NOT OKAY right now. The rich irony is him using Twitter to have his meltdown about Twitter.
Holler hosted a Twitter Spaces with some other guy, where they both declared that Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, quote, "sucks." Then came the angry Twitter fingers.
There were plenty of overdramatics.
It wouldn't be a leftist meltdown without calling someone an -ist guilty of many -isms and -phobias.
Then there is the coup de grace. Calling Musk anti-trans, since trans people remain ranked #1 on the left's pound-for-pound most marginalized rankings. Did Musk say that trans people smell funny? Did he tweet that a Biden Administration official who has a wife, two kids, and a penis might be a man? No. Musk tweeted a funny meme that had nothing to do with trans people. But it said the word "trans" without rainbows and kittens surrounding it. Holler declared it to be "anti-trans" for that reason.
The reality is Musk was making fun of woke twats like Jay Holler.
What I think this is really about is Jay Holler no longer being able to work on algorithms that shadowban people who have a different opinion than him. Such as people who share funny Netflix memes. There will also be no more suspending people whose opinion he disagrees with, not explaining why, and then when there is ample enough outrage, claiming the account was deleted in error. Also, Alex Jones is coming back. It has to happen.
If Holler and his cohorts don't like it, get another job. Substack doesn't want you. But I'm sure one of the other Big Tech companies would.
