Remember when people on the right said the FBI had become the Biden Administrations Gestapo when they targeted parents at school board meetings, designating them as domestic terrorists? Or when they raided the home of former president Donald Trump based on little more than a complaint from the National Archives, and some of those same people on the right began to warn Americans about the corruption and despotic nature of the federal government's use of the FBI? Remember how many people pointed to the DOJ, saying they were political hacks? Well, all those people were right.
A new letter originating from the House Committee on the Judiciary, sent to FBI director Christopher Wray, details allegations from another FBI Whistleblower. The whistleblower claims that the bureau has deviated from common practices and protocols to effectively and purposefully overstate the threat of domestic extremism in the United States.
To make a long story short, the Washington Field Office (WFO) has been contacting field offices nationwide to open investigations on "possible suspects" related to January 6. This deviates from common practice, wherein the WFO would open investigations under their broad investigation and then task field offices to pursue them.
The manipulative casefile practice creates false and misleading crime statistics. Instead of hundreds of investigations stemming from a single, black swan incident at the Capitol, FBI and DOJ officials point to significant increases in domestic violent extremism and terrorism around the United States.
Furthermore, the whistleblower explains, agents are being pulled from other investigations to pursue the "FBI leadership's political agenda."
[T]he whistleblower disclosed that the FBI is sacrificing its other important federal law-enfrocement duties to pursue January 6 investigations. The whistleblower recalled, for example, being "told that child sexual abuse material investigations were no longer an FBI priority and should be referred to local law enforcement agencies." Such a posture is not only a dereliction of the FBI's mission to investigate violations of federal laws, but it is a grave disservice to the victims of child sexual abuse and other crimes that do not advance the FBI leadership's political agenda.
Representative Jim Jordan is requesting information related to the FBI's investigations of January 6 to verify the claims of the whistleblower. I won't be shocked if the FBI has misplaced those records, though.
I didn't think the FBI could be any more crooked than we previously thought, but shrugging off the sexual abuse of children to go after political opponents has hit a new all-time low.
