In 2007, Tom Hanks said, "the US government has lost its credibility so it’s borrowing some of mine." It was to explain why there was a new Grand Canyon where Springfield used to be. Keep that in mind as you read about the White House looking to place a "trusted" messenger on Joe Rogan's podcast and on Barstool Sports to shill for the SCHMOVID schmaccine.
They were also looking to work with "outside experts" to identify who will be most effective "trusted" messenger. Yes. We now have alleged experts whose expertise is in identifying alleged trusted messengers. I'm guessing they ruled out Anthony Fauci.
Appropos of nothing, here is a Member of Parliament getting a Pfizer executive -- an inside expert -- to admit they never tested the schmaccine to see if it would innoculate against SCHMOVID.
I understand WHY the White House would target Rogan and Barstool. Both have huge audiences that weren't promoting the government messaging. Rogan was the loudest schmaccine skeptic and would ask questions. Barstool stayed out of it, outside of a Fauci interview and El Pres questioning the lockdowns. But while Barstool wasn't telling people not to get the schmaccine, they weren't using their platform to tell people to get it. In the eyes of the left, that's just as bad. Not using your platform to affirm whatever it is progressives believe that week makes you no different than Russia or Fox News.
What's amusing is that for a group of people who demand you only listen to their government experts -- Joe Biden admits to only knowing what the "government guys" tell him -- they are okay with you listening to non-experts as long as those non-experts are repeating what the White House wants them too.
Like using TikTokkers to tell people they should blame Putin for high gas prices. Or convince them they should care more about the January 6th committee as opposed to things that matter to their lives. A "trusted messenger" is any marginally famous person who repeats government talking points no questions asked.
