Funerals are starting for the victims of the Uvalde school shooting. Burying a child is the worst thing a parent could ever go through. Throw the tragic event on top of that--throw the politicization and the media coverage on top of that. A Houston Chronicle reporter thought a funeral for one victim would be a good event to interrupt. He picked one where bikers were running security, who politely told him to go f*ck himself.
"I'm just trying to do my job."
"And we're doing hours."
Ten bucks say Julian thinks he's the hero here.
The "gang" is the Guardians of the Children. They are a non-profit "comprised of motorcycle enthusiasts that use motorcycles as tools to help children who have overcome child abuse, ages 0-17, become strong, confident, and courageous again." They told the reporter they were asked to be there by the police. Whether that is true or not, I don't care. What's important is that they were there and they stopped a journalismer from crashing a funeral.
Seriously. Set aside the gun control debate, the school safety debate, the police response debate and every other argument Americans are having. Save "now is not the time" vs "when is the time" for next week. Do you know when we should all agree the time is not? AT A FUNERAL FOR A NINE-YEAR-OLD.
If the families get one day when they are left alone from the rest of the world, it should be that day.
