One of the most surprising things about Donald Trump's first term is how well he does with the left's various marginalized groups. You would think with all the media coverage of him promoting hatred and literally being Hitler, it wouldn't be like that. Yet compared to most Republicans in general, he peels off votes where other GOP candidates couldn't (see BLACK TRUMP SUPPORTERS GO VIRAL FOR AWESOME PRO-AMERICA MESSAGE and LATINO AND FORMER DEMOCRAT ASKS AT TRUMP RALLY 'WHERE ARE THE RACISTS?'). Now, according to at least one survey, Trump is crushing it with queer men.
A survey of around 1,200 queer male Americans found that around 45 per cent – around 540 – plan to vote for Trump.
As much as Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has netted an, albeit, slim majority of the queer male vote, securing 51 per cent, it signalled to pollsters how the president's brand of bullish showmanship has roiled the political landscape.
The poll conducted by queer dating app Hornet found that less than half of queer men said they do not support Trump, and a slither of just 11 per cent said they generally disagree with his stances.
Trump positions have changed over the years, but his most consistent position is being pro-LGBTQ rights. He was in favor of gay marriage before Joe Biden and and Barack Obama ever were. Plus, it was actually a gay Republican organization, GOProud, that first brought Donald Trump to CPAC, which I believe was the start of Trump's political career. Any criticism of Trump mostly stems from what the left labels "anti-trans" policies, since transgenders are still ranked #1 on the left's pound-for-pound most marginalized rankings. With assorted other issues thrown in, mostly based on how the left defines something as an anti-(place group here) policy.
Which is why I think the left is so unhinged. They've invested decades in dividing people into various groups, playing them off each other, and arbitrarily assigning issues to them that only they should care about. Those groups are starting to rebel. Maybe a lot of the queer men polled who support Trump don't like Trump personally. Maybe they agree with some of the criticism. But they see how the left has nothing to offer but pandering and are willing to give him a chance.
