Starbucks announced today that it will no longer be mandating employees get their Faucie Ouchies. Yes, that Starbucks. The company that is so liberal it borders on parody. They announced today that they are siding with employee rights over liberal politics and will comply with the Supreme Court. That "clickity-clack" you hear is the sound of a thousand leftist douchelords banging away on their laptops and sending angry tweets.
Starbucks COO John Culver told employees that the company "respects the Court’s ruling and will comply," adding that the company agreed with the "spirit" and "intent" of the mandate, and thanking the 90% of employees who have disclosed their personal health decision to corporate.
It's been a fascinating week. Yesterday, Carhartt, a company popular with blue-collar, middle-America Americans who value freedom, said nuts to that freedom and nuts to their employees. Starbucks is a liberal company popular in liberal cities with liberals, the kind of liberals who wears three masks and Anthony Fauci underpants. The company that is based in Seattle, where citizens are so woke, they defunded a black chief of police in the name of black lives mattering. THAT company is saying they won't discriminate over personal health choices.
At least, for now. As you read this, tons of angry leftists are banging away on Twitter between sips of whatever seasonal spiced latte is in style. They are no doubt accusing Starbucks of being anti-science and/or sacrificing human lives for profit margins as a fair trade. There is a good chance the COO will be bullied by his subordinates into changing this policy and apologizing to each employee with a handwritten note.
We'll see how it goes. But, for now, at 2:23 pm on a Wednesday, January 19, 2022, Starbucks is a more based company than Carhartt. It's a mad, mad world.
