The popular video game Grand Theft Auto allows you to live out all your criminal fantasies. Car chases, pistol-whipping, slapping around hookers... you know, fun stuff like that. If you thought crime in progressive cities was beginning to resemble GTA IRL, boy does New York City have a story for you. Either one of these people plays too many video games or this is just what NYC is devolving to. IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!
(The irony here is that GTA might be resembling NYC by selling out to wokeness, but that's a different post)
The backstory is unclear. The Toyota has $20,000 cash in the car. The Mercedes did not. The Mercedes chased the Toyota, until the Toyota crashed and then got rammed by the Mercedes. That's where a man got out of the Mercedes, broke the window of the Toyota, took the $20,000 cash, and drove off.
As of this writing, the suspects are still at large. Upon capture, the suspected will be read their rights, taken to the local police station, and then eventually released on his own recognizance and be back out on the street. After all, this is New York City. There is a reason why a high-speed chase in broad daylight doesn't seem out of the ordinary.
