Even after a crushing loss on Sunday, Houston Texans QB CJ Stroud had praise for Jesus Christ. He was asked about it during a post-game presser.
No doubt, the reason for the question stemmed from the controversy with NBC Sports. The network censored his live comments praising Jesus after his win the week before. Stroud said, "First and foremost, I want to give all glory and praise to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." See if you can spot where NBC Sports made the edit.
The NBC Sports digital team is run out of NYC, where they hate Jesus unless they are claiming he is Palestinian. Had Stroud praised Planned Parenthood, Biden 2024, or Pfizer, I'm sure the digital team would have kept it in. The person who made the edit was probably bitter that they were stuck editing a Texans game instead of the Taylor Swift game that was airing next.
Stroud was asked about his vocal love for Jesus after losing to the Ravens on Sunday, and what other players think about it.
I’ve gotten a lot of great people who have reached out and even guys after games who just talk about how I mention God and Christ and things like that. I always tell people it’s not me, you know what I’m saying? It’s Him. ... Even like [Ravens] Coach (John) Harbaugh saying that after they beat us, you can just see there’s a lot of us out here too who love the Lord.
These are the comments from John Harbaugh that Stroud was talking about. The coach read from Scripture prior to taking questions.
Anytime a public figure shows the courage to speak out about Jesus is a good thing. It's frustrating, though, that it's considered such a weird and unpopular thing to do; reporters will question you about it like you're the odd one. "You talk about Jesus a lot. What's that all about?"
CJ Stroud is in his rookie year. That he already has the courage and conviction to profess his faith so publically, he's in a position to inspire others. Stroud looks like he's ready for that role.
