Leftists and the media (but I repeat myself) are all-ins on alleged "book banning" as a talking point against conservatives. However, it only works if they avoid providing any specific examples of what's being "banned." Because, and this is an important point, nothing is being "banned." It didn't stop Maryland Governor Wes Moore from claiming book banners are castrating children.
During an interview with CNN employee turned White House Press Secretary turned NBC News employee Jen Psaki, Moore gave his thoughts on the "conservative passion project" of "book banning." Apologies for the overabundance of using quotation marks, but you can't see me making finger quotes in the air as I write this.
\u201cMaryland Democrat Gov. Wes Moore says restricting certain highly sexualized and racist books from school libraries is "telling other kids that they shouldn't understand their own power. It's castrating them."\u201d— RNC Research (@RNC Research) 1687136158
It’s not about making kids feel uncomfortable. It’s about telling other kids that they shouldn’t understand their own power. It’s castrating them.
Ironic comment, since Biden Democrats have made castrating children an essential plank in their platform.
No specifics were given, of course. But the governor's local news outlet drew the comparison to Florida Governor and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis. DeSantis has made defending parents and students from indoctrination in public schools a central part of his campaign. This stands in contrast to his primary opponent Donald Trump, who has made defending Donald Trump a central part of his campaign.
There are three areas that, when leftists claim DeSantis is "banning" "books," come up as examples.
1. A poem from Amanda Gorman was moved from the middle school area of the library to the high school area of the library. It is considered a "book ban" by the left because middle school students have to go to a different area of the library.
2. DeSantis opposes a single AP African-American History curriculum because he feels history should teach kids about history and not Marxist indoctrination or who is banging who.
3. There are conservatives who feel that books about kids tasting their vagina slime, teaching them how to give a handy to make someone cum, and graphic novels about two dudes f*cking are inappropriate to be available in schools. Now, if you as a parent feel your kid learning about tasting their vagina slime, how to give a handy to make someone cum, or read a graphic novel about two dudes f*cking is crucial to their development, you can go on Amazon.com and have the book by tomorrow. It's not banned. It just won't be available in school.
Leftists and media (but I repeat myself) using "book banning" as a talking point only works if they don't provide any examples. it's crucial to always provide examples to show a) nothing is banned, and b) this is the garbage Biden Democrats support.
