Grandpa was at it again. Today, in front of cameras and the assembled press, Joe Biden made the mistake of thinking he was President of the United States and/or had his own thoughts. Ol' Puddinghead called on a reporter. Unclear is if he was supposed to call on a different reporter and instead called on an unapproved reporter, or if he wasn't supposed to call on any reporter. His handlers were quick to chase the press out of the room just to be on the safe side.
We have been over this again and again and again and again and again. Is there really no one in the White House who realizes how embarrassing this makes Joe Biden look? Biden comes off like an incompetent old buffoon who can't be trusted to velcro his own shoes. And he is an incompetent old buffoon who can't be trusted to velcro his own shoes. The White House is supposed to not let him look like that in public.
I still can't tell if he thinks he's being funny or if he's sincere when he says things like: "I took control. I shouldn't do that. I'm not allowed to do that." But he looks like an idiot. And it makes you wonder who is the man behind the curtain pulling strings. Oz might need his diaper changed again.
To be fair to the people who control Biden, I can understand not letting him go off script today. Penn-Wharton just released a report that the bailout of his supporters' student loans will cost taxpayers one trillion dollars. It's also the one-year anniversary of when thirteen service members were killed in a terrorist attack that was a result of Biden's incompetent withdrawal from Afghanistan. It might be best to send him back way for the weekend.
