I guess aggravated battery against several police officers is not a serious enough crime for progressives to classify as a risk to public safety.
A woman who was charged with several felony counts of aggravated battery against four Chicago police officers was released the first day cash bail was officially eliminated across Illinois.
She is being accused of pepper-spraying four cops during Mexican Independence Day festivities.

“Aguilar intentionally discharged pepper spray toward a group of Chicago cops in the 200 block of North Wabash around 2:38 a.m. Sunday,”according to her CPD arrest report. “The incident was captured on police body cameras and resulted in two officers being treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the report.”
The suspect was arrested moments after the incident on Sunday and was scheduled to appear in bond court on Monday.
In case you missed it, judges in Illinois can no longer order people to put up money to get out of jail while awaiting trial. Illinois is the first state to ban it completely.
Progressives told us that judges will still be able to detain a defendant if they believe they pose a risk to public safety.
"I can assure you that the Cook County State's Attorney office stands ready to implement the Pre-Trial Fairness Act," Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx posted to social media Monday, according to Fox News. "This effort to detain those who pose a real threat to our public rather than detain those who are simply poor is the right thing to do."
But I guess attacking a bunch of police officers is not concerning to progressive judges in Chicago.
In a statement, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle called the end of cash bail a "milestone on the path toward economic and racial justice in Cook County and Illinois."
Ironically, Aguilar has a tattoo on her chest that says "Your pain is mine now."
Well, she is not wrong.
Luckily, Chicago Police may not have to deal with this crap if they don’t want to because Florida has launched a billboard campaign in Chicago to recruit law enforcement officers.
“We are launching law enforcement recruitment billboards in Chicago, where crime rates are soaring and officers are unappreciated,” DeSantis wrote on X. “While dozens of Illinois officers have already relocated to Florida, we look forward to welcoming many more with open arms and a $5,000 bonus.”
Her court date is set for Sept. 25. But I would not be surprised if she did not show up because if she did get arrested for not showing up, they will just release her again.
Well, it is safe to say that the Illinois Purge has begun.
