President Biden addressed the growing concern that millions of Americans are refusing to return to the work force due to generous unemployment benefits Monday; saying he’s simply not “seeing much evidence of that.”
“I know there’s been a lot of discussion since Friday’s report that people are being paid to stay home rather than go to work. We don’t see much evidence of that, that is a major factor, we don’t see that, look, uh, it’s easy to say, the line is bend because of the generous unemployment benefits!” said Biden.
“My dad used to say a job is about a lot more than your paycheck,” added the President. “We’re not going to turn our backs on our fellow Americans.”
