The crisis is real, and it’s only getting worse.
On Sunday morning, ABC News’ Martha Raddatz acknowledged the surge of migrants at America’s southern border and warned that more are on the way. According to a report during ABC’s “This Week,” 2,500 illegal immigrants have crossed into El Paso every day last week, with 18,000+ per day expected when the Biden administration ends Title 42 on Wednesday.

“We begin this morning with the crisis at the southern border,” said ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz. “After a year of record breaking migrant crossings, another surge is looming.”
Raddatz added that during a recent trip to the border, she saw a “system under extreme strain.”
On Saturday night, El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser declared a state of emergency in response to the worsening migrant crisis–which has left scores of illegal migrants sleeping in freezing temperatures on the streets of his city.
“We know that the influx on Wednesday will be incredible,” Mayor Lesser during a news conference. The mayor claims that daily apprehensions and street releases could rise as high as 6,000 per day once Title 42 is lifted.
