The two reporters were hit with batons, electric cables and whips.
The Taliban continue to prove they haven’t changed at all: threatening the U.S. during the evacuation; shooting a pregnant police officer; firing on peaceful protests – there’s a reason the United States officially recognizes them as a terrorist organization.
And now, they’re terrorizing the press.
According to the New York Post, Nematullah Naqdi and Taqi Daryabi were beaten for covering a women’s protest in Kabul.
“One of the Taliban put his foot on my head, crushed my face against the concrete. They kicked me in the head … I thought they were going to kill me,” Naqdi told Agence France-Presse.
According to the Post, when he asked why they were being beaten, Naqdi was told: “You are lucky you weren’t beheaded.”
Daryabi added: “We were in so much pain that we couldn’t move.”
The Biden administration says they will “judge the Taliban by its actions, not words.”
