Trump couldn’t resist poking at embattled New York Governor Andrew Cuomo at a Republican fundraiser saying, “It’s going to be a hot couple of weeks in Albany.”
“Cuomo’s got real problems.”
According to the New York Post, Trump then gave a shout out to the state Senate Republican Minority Leader Robert Ortt, who would participate in a Senate trial to remove the governor if the Assembly moved to impeach.
“Senator Ortt is going to have a great time,” Trump said jokingly.
U.S. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik sent the following tweet: “Proud to speak with President Trump and hundreds of patriotic New Yorkers at the @NewYorkGOP who are energized and united to save our state and #SaveAmerica!”
