Earlier this week, the Cowboys added a 6-foot-2, 225-pound running back who somehow flew under the radar. Thursday, they added a 6-foot-4 defensive back who somehow flew under the radar.
Jacobi Oliphant announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Thursday evening. Oliphant is a three-star cornerback ranked as the No. 1,582 player in the 2024 class. He chose OSU over other finalists Wyoming, Colorado State, Ohio and Arkansas State.
Oliphant hails from St. Louis and St. Louis University High. He picked up an OSU offer in late October and took an official visit to Stillwater this past weekend.
It’s not the first time OSU went to St. Louis and left with a jumbo DB. Cameron Epps was listed as a 6-3 corner in the 2022 class before making an impact this season, picking off three passes as a redshirt freshman. Oliphant also wore No. 7 in high school, the same number Epps is rocking in Stillwater.
Oliphant becomes the fifth defensive back OSU has gotten in the 2024 class, joining Landyn Cleveland (Mansfield, Texas), LaDainian Fields (Oklahoma City), David Kabongo (Roanoke, Texas) and Willie Nelson (Longview, Texas). The Cowboys also have a transfer portal commitment from UTEP transfer safety Kobe Hylton.
