Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma 27-24 on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium in the last Bedlam ever on the schedule.
Here are some superlatives that stood out from the historical game, including game MVPs, big plays and milestones reached.
Offensive Player of the Game (Thatâs Not Ollie Gordon): Rashod Owens
It was clear even in the first drive that Rashod Owens would make an impact in this Bedlam.
Owens finished as OSUâs leading receiver with 10 catches for 136 yards and was targeted 17 (!!!) times. Three of his catches were spectacular, tipping the ball back to himself and diving to make the play.
Of Owensâ 10 receptions, three came in the opening drive alone, for 27 yards.
Defensive Player of the Game: Xavier Benson
Xavier Benson: Bedlam wrecker.
Benson made play after play Saturday night, tallying seven total tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, a quarterback hurry, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. What a stat line.
When OU was cruising down the field and looking to take an early lead with the game tied 7-7, Gabriel fumbled and it was Benson who hopped on it. The Cowboys turned that turnover into a 14-7 lead for themselves.
What Ollie Did
At times it looked like OU was actually stumping OSUâs workhorse, but when the clock struck zero, Ollie Gordon still had over 100 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Gordon finished with 137 rushing yards on 33 carries to average 4.2 an attempt, as well as an 18-yard reception on a screen pass. It was Gordonâs sixth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.
Play of the Game: Alan Bowmanâs Run Down
Marshall pointed out how big this play was, and Mike Gundy was even on the same page as him after the game.
OSU tried to get fancy on the first play of the fourth quarter down 21-17 with running back Ollie Gordon throwing a pass. The pass was intercepted by Billy Bowman and BPS was holding its breath as it looked like it could be returned for a touchdown and put OSU in a deep deep hole.
Alan Bowman chased the defending Bowman down, though, and pushed him out of bounds at OUâs 44. OSUâs defense ended up holding OU and the Sooners failed to get any points after the potential pick-6 was cut short.
After the game in the chaos of the postgame media scrum, Marshall asked Bowman about his tackle. During Bowmanâs answer, from across the room, Gundy shouted to Bowman about the importance of that run down before they reminisced about what transpired.
Gundy Reaches Big 12 Century Mark
Gundy admitted he didnât even know the last Bedlam victory was his 100th Big 12 win until athletic director Chad Weiberg and governor Kevin Stitt were handing him a game ball.
Saturday was Gundyâs 100th win over a Big 12 opponent, and what a way to reach that milestone as your biggest rival is on its way out of the conference for the SEC.
Gundy joined Bob Stoops and Bill Snyder as the only coaches to ever win at least 100 Big 12 games.
Final Bedlam Count
With this being the last Bedlam on the schedule, OSUâs win made the final series record 21-90-7 in OUâs favor.
As ugly as the count still looks, Alan Bowman pointed out that the total record argument can be shut down when Cowboy fans just ask who won the last one.
