From us at PFB – we hope you and your’s had a great 4th of July:
OSU Bullets
• Recruiting update: the Pokes landed a cornerback for the 2022 class, lost out on a five-star tackle
• Cowboy alum Alex Noren finished one stroke back at the Rocket Classic – earning over $300k
A tough break – Noren went to the clubhouse on top to see three finish ahead of him
• Jenni Carlson laid out a terrific timeline for OSU’s last three athletic directors – culminating in the accomplishments of Mike Holder
• Mike Gundy wasn’t filmed in Mike Holder’s going away video (like his peers were) but Holder had a great closing line when asked about Gundy’s non-appearance:
“The best tribute to me (Mike Holder, that Mike Gundy could give) or Boone Pickens is to win football games. Sign great players, mentor them, make sure they get a good education, coach them up on game day, and then win a bunch of games.”

• Pretty cool – the O’Colly has an updating NIL tracker for OSU athletes
• Missed this on Friday – the Pokes added a non-conference game against NC State for the basketball team
• CBS Sports says the Pokes have the sixth-hardest football schedule in the conference
• Golfweek has Karsten Creek in their top 30 of public golf courses:
Non-OSU Bullets
• I’m fine with the idea of Reggie Bush getting his Heisman back – assuming that what he did (receiving benefits) is legal under the new NIL
• I love this Philly-Portland trade for McCollom and Ben Simmons
• The problem of distraction (faith-based)
