Oklahoma State entered Saturday night’s Big 12 championship game as a projected No. 2 seed for Selection Sunday. But it came with a caveat from some: to hold on to the spot, it likely needed to beat Texas.
It did not.
As a result, at least one major bracket expert has dropped the Pokes to the 3 line. Here’s an update on where things stand entering Selection Sunday.
CBS Sports | No. 2 seed
Jerry Palm had OSU as a No. 2 seed entering Saturday. He kept them on the 2 line as the No. 8 overall team (the final No. 2 seed).
ESPN | No. 3 seed
Joe Lunardi had OSU as a No. 2 seed entering Saturday but as the final No. 2 seed (and the No. 8 overall team). He moved them down two spots to No. 10 overall, pushing the Pokes onto the 3 line.
Bracketville | No. 2 seed
Bracketville is the most consistent predictor of seeding in recent years according to the Bracket Matrix. So good omen here that OSU could stay as a No. 2 seed. (It projects it would face No. 15 seed Oral Roberts in the first round. Where do I unsubscribe?)
