Longtime Oklahoma State running back target Cam’Ron Valdez is set to make his school selection not too long before the Pokes take the field this weekend.
Valdez announced via his Twitter that he will choose a program at 2 p.m. Saturday. In July, Valdez included OSU in his final seven schools alongside Texas Tech, Nebraska, Purdue, Arizona State, Arkansas and Utah.
Valdez is the No. 349 player in the 2021 class, according to the composite ranking. That would make him the third-highest rated commit of OSU’s class, if he picked the Pokes.
Rivals is high on Valdez, as the recruiting service lists him as a four-star recruit and the No. 223 player in the class.
As a sophomore and junior at Rockdale High School (Texas), Valdez ran for a combined 2,872 yards and 43 touchdowns.
OSU offered Valdez Nov. 13. He was able to get on campus before the shutdown, visiting Stillwater in January.
Tech looks to be the favorite for now, with analysts on 247Sporst and Rivals predicting him to Lubbock.
Valdez would be the second running back in OSU’s class, following Frisco-Lone Star speedster Jaden Nixon.
