It was the last week of the regular season for most of Oklahoma State’s 2024 football commits. Now it’s playoff time.
This past weekend also saw high school careers end for a few Cowboy pledges. Here are quick recaps on how OSU’s 2024 class played this week.
Temerrick Johnson / Edge / Midlothian Heritage (10-0) / Texas
Temerrick Johnson’s Midlothian Heritage Jaguars finished the regular season unbeaten after besting Everman 35-7.
Johnson had six tackles in the game. He also recorded 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Midlothian Heritage plays Wilson in the first round of the Texas 5A-DII playoffs Thursday.
Josh Ford / TE / Stillwater (8-2) / Oklahoma
After starting the year 0-2, the Stillwater Pioneers rattled off eight straight wins to claim a district title after beating Muskogee 30-20 this past weekend.
Josh Ford had three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown in the game. He also made five tackles, including a tackle for loss.
Stillwater has a bye in the first round of the Oklahoma 6A-II playoffs, as the Pioneers await the winner of Putnam City and Tahlequah.
David Kabongo / S / Byron Nelson (10-0) / Texas
David Kabongo’s Byron Nelson Bobcats end the regular season perfect after beating V.R. Eaton 43-36 this past weekend.
There weren’t stats for the game on MaxPreps, but Kabongo uploaded a highlight reel to Hudl that shows him making a handful of plays on defense and special teams. He even had a short touchdown run in the game as a running back.
Byron Nelson plays Crowley on Friday in the first round of the Texas 6A-DII playoffs.
Rodney Fields / RB / Del City (9-0) / Oklahoma
Rodney Fields and Del City beat Durant 43-10 to finish the regular season unbeaten.
There weren’t stats on MaxPreps for the game as of writing, but there is a highlight on Field’s Hudl channel of him ripping off a 65-yard touchdown run.
The Eagles host Pryor on Friday in the first round of the Oklahoma 5A playoffs.
Landyn Cleveland / S / Mansfield Legacy (2-8) / Texas
Landyn Cleveland’s high school career came to an end this past weekend when his Mansfield Legacy Broncos fell to Duncanville 35-3.
There weren’t any stats on MaxPreps for Legacy, but Cleveland did release a season highlight reel this week.
Tre Griffiths / WR / Keller (7-3) / Texas
Tre Griffiths’ Keller Indians finished their regular season on a high note with a 34-28 win over Haltom.
Griffiths had six catches for 68 yards and a touchdown in the game.
Keller plays North Crowley on Friday in the first round of the Texas 6A-DI playoffs.
Willie Nelson / DB / Longview (9-1) / Texas
After starting the year 0-1, Willie Nelson’s Longview Lobos won nine straight and capped their regular season with a dominant 43-0 win against West Mesquite.
Nelson was credited with a tackle and a pass breakup in the game.
Longview plays Porter on Friday in the first round of the Texas 5A-DI playoffs.
Caleb Hackleman / OL / Pleasant Grove (10-0) / Texas
Caleb Hackleman’s Pleasant Grove Hawks finished the regular season unbeaten after storming past Spring Hill 70-30.
The Hawks play Rusk on Friday in the first round of the Texas 4A-DII playoffs.
Armstrong Nnodim / DL / Horn (5-5) / Texas
Armstrong Nnodim’s high school career ended with a 38-17 win against Royse City.
There weren’t stats on MaxPreps, but Nnodim uploaded a short highlight of him blowing up a running back before sacking the Royse City quarterback.
Jonathan Agumadu / LB / McKinney (8-2) / Texas
The McKinney Lions will enter the playoffs on a loss after falling to Prosper 24-12 to finish the regular season.
Jonathan Agumadu wasn’t credited with any stats on MaxPreps.
McKinney plays Marcus on Friday in the first round of the Texas 6A-DII playoffs.
Gunnar Wilson / LB / Melissa (9-1) / Texas
Melissa went into the final week of the regular season unbeaten but fell to Lovejoy 28-7.
Gunnar Wilson’s Cardinals will start their playoff run with a matchup against Whitehouse on Friday in the Texas 5A-DII bracket.
Luke Webb / DL / Deer Park (9-1) / Texas
The Deer Park Deer are headed to the playoffs after beating South Houston 52-7 to close the regular season.
Despite being 9-1, Deer Park has a tough draw in unbeaten North Shore in the first round of the Texas 6A-DI bracket.
Chauncey Johnson / OL / Lonoke (3-7) / Arkansas
Chauncey Johnson’s Lonoke Jackrabbits fell to Nashville 62-7 this past weekend.
Lonoke still made the playoffs, though. The Jackrabbits play Malvern in the first round of the Arkansas 4A bracket.
