These teams separated by a turnpike will meet for just the second time in the past five years.
OSU beat the Golden Hurricane 82-56 in Stillwater last season. Bryce Thompson led the Pokes in scoring that day, dropping 18 points on his hometown school and going 4-for-8 from 3. Moussa Cisse (12) and Tyreek Smith (10) also scored in double figures.
The Cowboys are 3-2 against Tulsa in Oklahoma City. This is the first time the two have met in the state’s capital since the Golden Hurricane upset the Cowboys 82-80 in the second round of the 1994 NCAA Tournament. “Big Country” Bryant Reeves scored 32 points that day, as Randy Rutherford (12), Brooks Thompson (11) and Bryndon Manzer (11) joined him in double figures. Gary Collier led Tulsa with 25 points.
