From about 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesday night/Thursday morning, I watched my ceiling fan do circles.
I got a few hours of sleep before waking up at 3:30 a.m. and staying up until my alarm at 5 a.m. I was headed to Indianapolis for the NCAA Tournament, and I just couldn’t keep my eyes closed.
I was excited to get to watch Cade Cunningham and this fun Oklahoma State team play in the Big Dance in person. I was nervous leaving for a trip that could be a few days or three weeks.
I debated on coming to Indianapolis at all. Interviews and whatnot are still over Zoom, so the only difference in me being here is that I’m physically at the games. I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it monetarily.
So, like with all business-related decisions I’ve had to make over the past few months, I asked Kyle Porter. His words of wisdom stuck. He told me not all benefits come monetarily and that some things are about the experience. It’s something I needed to hear, as all I’ve thought about lately is keeping the business successful monetarily.
With that said, I’m still a part of #FrugalGang. I spent about four hours determining the perfect place to stay in relation to cost, Uber rides and proximity to all the arenas and airport. I got quite the steal if I’m honest.
As I mentioned at the top, my morning started early on the quick, early flight from Stillwater to DFW. I flew with the OSU men’s golf team as those Cowboys head to Tucson this weekend.
There was a few hours between me landing in DFW to me leaving for Indianapolis. I went and found my terminal. There was a flight leaving from it before my flight. It was leaving for Cabo. Cabo seems nice, but I’d rather be going to the NCAA Tournament.
The flights weren’t bad at all. Once in Indy, I went to pick up my media credential. The media members got a goodie bag that featured a March Madness facemask, some buttons, some coasters and some postcards.

After that, I traveled to my hotel to watch the First Four games and hopefully catch up on some sleep. I’m banking on my exploring happening Saturday, which I could regret if Liberty brings OSU’s season death.
