The 2024 Oklahoma State football season has a start time.
The Cowboys will kick off their highly anticipated season against defending FCS national champion South Dakota State at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31, OSU announced Monday. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
This now means five OSU kick times for the 2024 season are known, including all of the Pokes’ nonconference games. Here are the announced kick times (all are Central):
South Dakota State — 1 p.m. Aug. 31 on ESPN+
Arkansas — 11 a.m. Sept. 7 on ESPN2
at Tulsa — 11 a.m. Sept. 14 on ESPN
at BYU — 9:15 p.m. Oct. 18 on ESPN
at Colorado — 11 a.m. Nov. 29 on ABC
OSU’s remaining kick times will be announced in either a 12-day or six-day window.
South Dakota State has won the past two FCS national titles, and the Jackrabbits will ride a 29-game winning streak into Stillwater. The last time SDSU lost was its 2022 season opener against Iowa, a game the Jackrabbits fell 7-3 in.
South Dakota State didn’t play an FBS opponent in 2023, but in the Jackrabbits’ four FCS playoff games, they outscored their opponents a combined 146-15.
OSU returns most of its production from a team that went 10-4 in 2023 — including Doak Walker winner Ollie Gordon. The Cowboys made it to the Big 12 title game but that came after a bit of a hairy start to the year that included a loss to South Alabama in the nonconference.
