Oklahoma State has had two weeks off from competition and now faces its stiffest test yet on Saturday as it welcomes No. 17 Iowa State to Stillwater.
The Cowboys are just 3.5-point favorites, according to the latest odds, the closest projected game of the season for them entering a game. (OSU was a touchdown favorite vs. West Virginia; we need not mention the spread on the KU game.)
Like OSU, Iowa State is also coming off a bye week, but its also on a nice little run having beat TCU, OU and Texas Tech over the last month. The Cyclones are 3-1 overall and have rebounded nicely after a stunning home loss to Louisiana to open the season.
Here’s a look at the updated odds, courtesy of William Hill.
- Spread: OSU -3.5
- Money line: OSU -170, Iowa State +150
- Total points (over/under): 52.0
Three games into the season, it’s far too early to draw conclusions on this OSU team — especially after facing Tulsa, West Virginia and Kansas. But on the season, OSU is 2-1-0 against the spread and has yet to be an underdog all season. Two of the three games have hit the under — except the Kansas game, of course — underscoring just how heavily OSU is relying upon its defense.
