Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence and other possible charges. He blew a .11 and .10 on the breathalyzer. The legal limit is .08.
PFB did not find any formal charges against Gordon in the state of Oklahoma.
According to a synopsis of arrest, at 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 35 in Cleveland County, a state trooper observed a black Cadillac swerving, then the trooper clocked the vehicle going 82 miles per hour in a 65. Once Gordon was pulled over, the trooper smelled an odor and interviewed Gordon. The report says Gordon denied consuming any alcohol and he refused to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Gordon eventually admitted to consuming one alcoholic beverage.
Gordon, when asked, also admitted he had two open containers of hard liquor in his vehicle. The trooper found a half bottle of vodka and half bottle of Tequila in the vehicle. Gordon then refused again to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, according to the report.
Gordon was ultimately placed under arrest for DUI under 21 years of age, transporting an open container of alcohol, failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and speeding.
According to KFOR’s Dylan Buckingham, OSU is aware of the situation but not commenting at this time.
Gordon was entering the 2024 season as a Heisman Trophy hopeful after winning the Doak Walker Award for the country’s best running back last season. It was also announced Monday that Gordon was one of four OSU players scheduled to attend next week’s Big 12 Football Media Days in Las Vegas.
