Oklahoma State tried to throw Dicker the Kicker — Cameron Dicker, Texas’ field goal kicker — for a loop on Saturday as he attempted a field goal. Its efforts have resulted in the Big 12 addressing the issue with OSU, and league commissioner Bob Bowlsby apparently declaring it was “impermissible.”
So what’d OSU do?
As Dicker kicked the field goal, OSU, with its jumbo video board placed directly behind the uprights, flashed dozens of yellow, upright-looking photos behind the posts. Here’s the video. (It didn’t work.)
In speaking with reporters this week, Texas coach Tom Herman addressed the topic and said he talked with Bowlsby about it. Bowlsby informed Herman it was “not permissible and it has been addressed,” per 247Sports.
Dicker went 2-for-2 on the day making kicks from 20 yards and 40 yards in the first half. He missed one of his four extra point attempts, but still accounted for nine of Texas’ 41 appoints on the afternoon.
