Just days after completing an official visit to Oklahoma State, three-star defensive line recruit Enyce Sledge, who OSU has seemingly courted aggressively after offering last month, announced on Tuesday that he is opening up his recruitment after a monthslong verbal commitment to Baylor.
Sledge chose Baylor over the summer after the Bears offered in June then welcomed him on campus for an official visit. The decommitment comes as OSU looks to fill out its 2022 class and as the Pokes surge into the top-10 of the national rankings behind the best defense in the Big 12.
“I will be de-committing from Baylor University and I will be re-opening my recruitment back up,” he announced on social media. “At the time I had to make a business decision for me and my family due to me seeing a friend lose what he has worked hard for. When I committed I was still getting a ton of love from coaches and for the past couple of months I have been stressing about me committing early.”
Needless to say, things are looking good for the Cowboys here for the Monroe, Louisiana native. When you ride the horse on an official, things go from zero to 100 real quick.
Listed as a 6-foot-3.5 interior lineman and 315 pounds, Sledge would be the largest defensive commit in OSU’s class and the only recruit (at least so far) committed to play on the interior of the defensive line. The Pokes have two DL commits as things stand in Landon Dean and Jaleel Johnson but both are expected to play on the edge.
