Act of kindness towards baby racoon turns dangerous

While strolling along the shores of Lake Overholser Thursday morning, 17-year-old Caleb came upon a struggling baby raccoon in the water. This kind-hearted young man thought he could make a quick rescue. The attempted rescue ended with the Oklahoma City Fire Department and Oklahoma City Police Department working together to rescue the young man. Caleb ended up finding himself far from shore, hanging on the dam, tired and very cold. The dam in Lake Overholser Caleb was hanging onto. (OKCFD)

The City of Tulsa says it will begin the removal process of the Black Lives Matter mural on Greenwood next week. It's been a battle between the city and those who want to see the mural stay where it is, and the controversy won't end there. According to a press release from the city, the resurfacing project will begin Monday, Oct. 5. Access to businesses will remain open throughout construction. A 12-year-old boy has died from a gunshot wound after being shot in Midwest City late Wednesday evening. Officers were dispatched to Sand Hills Apartments on reports of a shooting around 9:30 pm. When they arrived they found the child, who had been shot in the chest, surrounded by several people attempting to give him first aid. The child was reported as a runaway from Midwest City earlier according to police.
