Demand on food pantries doubles due to COVID-19

Area food banks are seeing demand for their services double as the economic fallout of the coronavirus takes its toll. "We're definitely serving at high volume during this time," said Chef Jeff Marlow of the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. And that is an understatement. Normally the food bank serves 500,000 meals a week, but now? "It's probably close to 900,000 to a million meals a week. I mean we're doubling our capacity right now during the COVID," he said.
