Gov. Stitt vetoes budget bills; Legislature overrides

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has vetoed several key budget bills, setting up a showdown with lawmakers in his own party who quickly voted to override the vetoes. Stitt on Wednesday vetoed four separate bills, including the general appropriations bill that makes up the the Legislature's $7. 7 billion spending plan. The other bills temporarily divert payments to the state's public pension systems and to a fund for road and bridge improvements.
