1720 - Pirates Anne Bonny, Mary Read, and John Rackham (Calico Jack) are captured by Capt. Jonathon Barret and brought to Spanish Town, Jamaica for trial
1777 - Articles of Confederation, the 1st Constitution of the US, is approved by the Continental Congress
1904 - King Gillette patents the gillette razor blade
1920 - League of Nations meets for the first time. The general assembly of the international organization got together for the first time after being founded in January 1920. The League was created as a response to World War I and was entrusted by member states to maintain peace in the world.
1932 - Walt Disney Art School created
1939 - FDR lays cornerstone of Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC
1969 - An estimated 2 million people take part in the Vietnam War Moratorium demonstration across the US
2017 - Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “Salvator Mundi” sells for $450.3 million at auction in NY; world record price for any artwork (pictured)
2020 - US President Trump tweets Biden “won because the election was rigged” while still refusing to concede the election
