Executives from TikTok, YouTube and Snapchat were grilled by Senators on Capitol Hill this week. They faced questions about how their platforms can potentially harm children, but also the censoring of conservatives and what they do with all the data they are collecting from their billions of users. For years Congress have threatened Big Tech companies with regulations and legislation that would reign in their power and influence Earlier this week, host Jessica Rosenthal spoke with Tennessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn about why she is troubled by the practices of companies like YouTube and Facebook and what lawmakers in Washington can do to address them. She also raised concerns over how TikTok's ties to China could pose a national threat to the United States if it is collecting and sharing information on Americans. The original interview was too long and we couldn't include all of it in our segment. On The FOX News Rundown EXTRA, you will hear our entire conversation with Sen. Blackburn and why she believes the reach and lack of transparency of social media platforms is an issue of national importance. October 31, 2021 at 05:00PM - Fox News |
